Jasper Watkins/Gwinnett County Commission Candidate (District 3)
Gwinnett County Commission (District 3) candidate Jasper Watkins has accumulated over 40 years of federal and state leadership experience. As part of his military and civilian career, LTC Watkins has gained a license as a Nuclear Pharmacist. He supported the Walter Reed Army Medical Center with the placement of injured Pentagon officials during September 11th. Watkins initiated the pharmaceutical support and medical re-supply for New Orleans immediately after Hurricane Katrina while serving as the Pharmacy Director of Martin Army Hospital at Ft. Benning, GA. He also sits on several boards and scientific associations. He was awarded the Legion of Merit Award for meritorious conduct while discharging his duties.

His mother passed away from cancer when he was 12 years old; his father passed away in August 2017 after being on dialysis for 7 years; and his sister passed away from her 8-year battle with Ocular Melanoma on February 1, 2019. In August of 2010, Snellville City Council voted to establish Snellville Tourism and Trade (STAT) as the city’s destination marketing organization. This group was formed to not only promote the hotels and businesses in the city, but to create a sense of community. The original five members were appointed by Snellville City Council and the DDA ( Downtown Development Authority) and soon became a nine member board of directors.
STAT works to improve the community in many ways. STAT produces numerous events throughout the year, including the Snellville Beach Blast, Star Spangled Snellville, the Snellville Fall Festival, and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Snellville Farmer’s Market provides an opportunity for area residents to purchase fresh produce, meat and more each Saturday from June through September. The Snellville Commerce Club works to promote the city’s businesses by hosting regular lunch meetings and special events. STAT also publishes a quarterly magazine, Snellville Spirit, which highlights the community, its businesses and its events.

Nick Gast/Parkview High School Athletics
Nick Gast is the Parkview High School Athletic Director. Prior to being named AD at Parkview, he was the Head Boys Basketball Coach and PE Teacher.
Coach Gast graduated from Bishop Kenny High School in 1998 and went on to attend Valdosta State University where he played basketball, was a 4 year starter, and a member of the 1,000 point club. He is one of the top 20 leading scorers in school history. He graduated with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Heath and Physical Education.
After graduation, Coach Gast became the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Clinch County High School. After one season, he left Clinch County to become an Assistant Basketball Coach at Southeastern Louisiana University. In 2007, Coach Gast became the Associate Head Mens Basketball Coach at Valdosta State. He coached at Valdosta State for 6 years prior to accepting a position at Parkview.
Eric Godfree/Parkview High School Football
Eric Godfree is the Head Coach of Parkview High School Football. Coach Godfree graduated from Parkview in 1994 and has been back at the school for the past six years.
Chan Brown/Parkview High School Baseball
Chan Brown is the Head Coach of Parkview High School Basebal. He started in 1976 and since then, the Panthers have won 22 Region Championships, 8 State Championships, and 3 National Championships.
